"Quiet and relaxing, all we hoped our holiday would be.The cottage was fresh and lovely and provided anything you could possibly need, from cooking in the evening to wandering during the day (umbrella) We loved the island and the people we met and hopefully it won’t be too long before we return. Natasha stayed in March 2025:
"This place was the perfect stay for people like us. We are not resort/buffet breakfast types. This place was clean and quiet, chickens running around, fruit growing on the trees. Despite being away from it all - there is a large convenience store and a burger joint close by. Small details like good coffee/tea/milk etc was considered. Great air con, a good washing machine (handy) and lovely outdoor space to lounge in. We also hired the scooter in the shed. The hosts were lovely and very responsive. We left feeling so relaxed and will definitely stay again. The fold out bed in the lounge was comfortable and I slept very well on it.

"An absolutely stunning place to stay - very peaceful, beautiful, clean, private and all amenities you need to chill. Can not fault anything at all with the property. Kim was so helpful, always responsive and very friendly. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay - I'm already planning another trip to Rarotonga in 2025 with plans to stay here again. Meitaki ma'ata for a wonderful stay ❤️"

"It was really peaceful and beautiful. The house was furnished with reliable, reputable branded appliances, and we were quite impressed with the quality! The host provided us with good recommendations of the local shops, activities, attractions, and she even brought us some local produce to enjoy! Thank you so much Kimberly and Kelly for the great service and hospitality, you two are true epitomes of local culture , friendliness and helpfulness of the Rarotongan spirit. "Mapere Retreat is truly that, a retreat which makes for a restful getaway. It’s a great location, close to everything and yet tucked away from the busy main road. Hosts were excellent and made our stay easy and relaxing. Modern and comfortable with all the necessary appliances etc. Would highly recommend this property."

"Mapere Retreat is amazing. Martina was amazingly responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We had a cyclone warning while we were the (false alarm thankfully) and Martina was very responsive with sending someone to prepare the yard and provided a safety and security plan. The house was perfect for our needs. We were there for a combination of work and holiday, for nearly two weeks, and the place was perfectly set up for our needs with a stand up work desk, dual screens, and high speed internet. The little touches really felt like you were staying in a home away from home, instead of sterile commercial accommodation. Can’t recommend enough and looking forward to staying again."

"A beautifully appointed property, the number of little details was extremely impressive. Located up a small hill, it’s a very private ( the two houses nearby were empty ) and well located house. A small detail, but the power outlets behind the mirror in the bathroom were brilliant for electric toothbrushes. Excellent appliances and very well thought out and equipped kitchen and house. Very comfortable bed, gas hot water ( genuinely hot ). So many little things, the small storage in the outdoor tables, cotton and needles, hose by the front door to wash off sand, the list goes on. It is not really walking distance from anywhere ( there is a close burger bar and petrol station/convenience store ), the benefit to that is a quite relaxing stay, well worth it. Thank you a fantastic stay."
